Glow On with Sunless Tanner
Summer may be winding down, but that doesn’t mean your sunkissed glow has to. Thanks to sunless tanners, you can safely maintain a hint of natural color all year long. And no, you won’t be streaky or orange!
Before applying, prep your skin with these simple steps. Exfoliate and moisturize In order for your skin to appear smoother and provide a nice canvas for your favorite tanner. To exfoliate, you can dry brush, use a granular scrub or a chemical one, like AHA’s. It is important that you use a soft touch. Don’t overdo it with a scrub and use light, gentle strokes with a dry brush. Wildling offers a great tutorial on drybrushing, as well as many other body treatments.
Follow with a body moisturizer that suits your skin type. I like to use sesame oil with a couple drops of orange blossom essential oil on my damp skin after a shower.
For a natural glow, my absolute favorite is the Saltyface Essential Tanning Set - it's easy to apply with the specially designed brushes and gives a very natural glow that builds over time. Best of all, it doesn’t smell, so you can put it on and leave for the day.
O’So Pro Tip: every other time you self tan your face, apply it only where you would normally put bronzer or contour for a no fuss makeup look. The price may seem a bit high, but trust me it lasts a long time and you will really love the results.
Another tried and true option (Cara’s favorite) is The Gradual by Tan-Luxe. This is a multipurpose product that moisturizes, gradually tans and makes your skin super glowy. No need to wear gloves, just apply like you would normal moisturizer and then wash your hands immediately after applying.
