You Can Bet Your Boots on These Styles

Shoes are probably my most favorite fashion accessory and boots top the list in that category.  They are versatile, comfortable and purposeful and definitely not just for cold, inclement weather.  You can pair them with a dress any time of the year or jeans on a snowy day.  The key is having the right mix of styles to cover your needs.  In my opinion, these are five styles that would get a lot of use in everyone’s closet.  This list doesn’t include necessity boots like an ugg or snow boot; we’ll save those styles for a little later.

Chelsea or Lace Up Boot

Either option are classic, easy to style boots to wear with jeans, trousers, or a skirt.  It really comes down to whether you like the ease of a slip-on or the look of a lace up.  Choosing the color will depend on the other boots in your closet.  I typically like a nice neutral, but it’s also a great time for brown, black or burgundy.

Bootie

There are so many different variations on this one.  I would say this is probably the one style where you may switch it up more often to be on trend.  Pointed or square toe, block or thin heel, animal print, faux croc or patent leather.  You can wear these with pretty much anything, but really great with cropped trousers, wider leg jeans and dresses.  I would suggest adding one of these in a style that matches your personality for a current addition to your wardrobe.

Riding Boot

This style may come and go as far as a trend, but I have had a pair for over 15 years that I wear all the time.  I love them over skinny jeans with a blazer or duster and they are so perfect with a flowy dress.  Opt for a gorgeous chocolate brown or deep burgundy color.

Tall Boot

If a traditional riding boot isn’t your thing, then you go with this boot; think Frye Campus.  These can be flat but also look great and very on trend with a heel for that slightly 70’s vibe.  I love these with short dresses or flared leg jeans.  And they always look great with a fun sock popping out of the top.

Cowboy or Moto Boot

Both are a staple with a lot of options, so go with which look is more you.  There are so many different takes on these styles, so you can have fun finding a pair that matches your current vibe.

Here's a roundup of all the different styles of boots that we are currently loving

O’So Pro Tip:

Snag a pair of boots in chocolate brown - they won’t go out of style, but are having a big moment right now!  And a really good, rich chocolate brown boot will be harder to find in the future.

Most Importantly - Wear What You Love!

We love sharing these style pages for a little inspo, but we really believe that you should only wear what you love.  Our motto is, “if it’s not talking to you, don’t buy it”!
