A Favorite Things Party
As women of a “certain” age, we have all seen and tried a lot of things - especially beauty products. I know that I have spent a small fortune in pursuit of a cream that would make my neck look 30 years younger or that perfect, barely there, “my lips but better” lip balm. With this in mind, I present the “Favorite Things Party”.
As a beauty product junkie myself, I would request that we all share our favorite item from the beauty aisle but it could also be fun to do kitchen gadgets or podcasts or socks. The sky’s the limit. Why not make it a quarterly thing?
Here’s the plan:
Invite your close friends and set a dollar limit. Now, beauty products can be expensive; I would suggest that guests make mini sizes of their favorite potions and lotions. To make things easier, I would buy and distribute to my friends these small travel containers prior to the party. I really like these from Amazon (set of 4 for $7.99). This way guests come to the party armed and ready to distribute! There are also products that come trial size - which could also be a good option. As long as there are parameters set, it should make it easy for the guests.
Each person should be prepared to give their “spiel” about their favorite product. Tell us why you love it! In the end, everyone will go home with (hopefully) a bunch of great new products to add to their repertoire. It’s like the beauty product equivalent of the cookie exchange!
As an added touch, I would get some cute, inexpensive travel makeup bags (like these) and personalize them with my Cricut (we’ll talk about that in a future issue!). This would be a great way for your guests to take home all their goodies. Party favors are always a good idea as far as I’m concerned - and personalized party favors take it to another level of fabulousness!
Delicious bites and sips are also a big part of any gathering. I love a good appetizer and I’ve made a few things from this creator and would highly recommend! As far as drinks go, I’d offer a non-alcoholic option - perhaps a margarita mocktail like this one (margaritas are my fave!) and of course some wine and sparkling waters. Et voilà, you’ve got yourself a party!
